A4lowstall vs A4highstall
Thanks
The only real difference is that the car with the 4400RPM stall will be able to launch higher from a stop, and therefore come off the line quicker provided it has traction. I believe stall speed also affects the slippage of the converter, so from a roll the 4400RPM converter will be able to keep the engine in the powerband by allowing slippage.
Im still learning and every time i put something in my car.. I want to know as much as I can. So stock LS1 motor on 4400 is really not going anywhere ( I know because I tried ). Whenver I got on it the rpm would just go to 5500-6000rpm and just hang in there all the time... and the car would keep accelerating.. slowly. I know that was overkill for my motor. Can You just explain it to me why was it happening ? I have an idea why but I want detailed answer.
Thanks fellas

even from a roll, take a 3000 vs a 4400. the 4400 stalled car will walk away, hands down.
how do i know this? i have a 4k stall and performed MANY "field tests"..
I got one question. See when my trans whas done I never tuned anything. I remember there was one problem with it. When I punched it... sometimes the trans would kick back to neutral. Any idea why was that happening. And over time.. it just went away. I dont know.. Like I said I know 4400 is a overkill for stock cam car but when I get on it... it freaking revs that hell out of it and its not going anywhere ( on higher speeds 50 - 70 mph). I just have the feeling that something is wrong with this trans. I hope that cam and good Dyno tunning will get my car to run like dream again.

And thats with the stock cam. yes this stall is too big for a stock cam. the ideal stall would be about a 4400 i think. But i bought this stall for cam only. Just can't wait to throw a Tyrannosaurus in it.
Lets say we have 2 cars that are exact with all the bolt ons plus cam and heads.
One car has a 3,000 to 3,200 stall and the other has a 4,200 to 4,400 stall. With the extra slipping and extra heat from the bigger stall would it kill the life on the trans compared to a smaller stall?
