tranny problem!

tranny problem! The other day I was driving home, and my car lost 3rd gear. Im not sure what it is. It shifts fine from 1st to 2nd, but when it goes into 3rd it just revs like its in neutral. Under WOT it will sometimes grab 4th comming out of 2nd. I talked to the guy who rebuilt it in Nov. he seems to think my 2-3 soleniod is out. So has any one of yall had this problem, what it is it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Cale
I don't believe that a solenoid is your problem. In 3rd the shift solenoids are both off. I do however think that you have a broken input drum. I would drop the pan and look to see if the lugs from the drum are laying in the bottom of it. Good luck! 
same thing happened to me with second gear.. iThe band or something burned out but they replaced my whole tranny but i only paid 100 bones it was under warranty.. but same semptoms i would floor it and from first to secon wouldnt shift go stright to third or redline til i let off..
