That is (specs) direct from GM. They call the trans a bottom pan removal type trans.

I had mine rebuilt with a TCI kit. TCI said Royal Purple was fine, which is what was used. I've had no problems but it's only been a few weeks.

I'm having my 4L60E rebuilt and it is being filled with Amsoil Super Shift. I've had Amsoil ATF in it for the past 50k+. I'm a strong believer that "synthetic oil in our tranny's is bad for them" is just a myth.

I have M1 ATF in my 4L60E for the last 45K and no problems (I flushed the old ATF from my TC).
