what converter to get!
^^ yea that might help, but at the same time u might just wanna save for a 12 bolt and put the money toward that instead of gears, thats what i'm doing... until i blow up my stock rearend i'm keeping my 2.73's

A couple of stories to prove my point:
My first car, an '87 IROC, had the transmission rebuilt by Aamco. That lasted 6months!!!
I talked to a local trans shop to rebuild my '93 tranny. He didn't even know the type of tranny I had. Don't go to a shop if they haven't worked on your exact type of transmission before.
My Yank rocks as does the trans rebiuild by a VERY reputable trans shop (3 years running now). I had a previous rebuild by a local shop that lasted all of 3,200 miles!!!
The moral of this story is don't chince out on the transmission...it will come back to bite you in the ***.
