Default 400 vs. built 4l60e

ok i want to go for a 10sec cam only timeslip. My next mod is a built tranny. Obviously Im on a budget so when I get parts they need to be good for my application. I was thinking about a built 400 but dont really know too much about them but do know that they require a lot of work to be operational. Then theres a built 4l60e which could bolt righ up with no problems and save me some money. Im not making serious power so I know the tranny would last. would I have better times with the same setup if I went with a 400 or a built 4l60e?

Here's a post I had going a while back about the same thing https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/416720-built-4l60e-vs-th400.html. I'm sure you'll find some info on it.

the closer ratio of the th400 is better suited for 1/4 mile times as it keeps the engine on the power curve better during ratio changes.it does rob more power than the 4l60e but is built more durable for less money.we make a 4l60e with a 2.66 first gear ratio however that gives you the same improved performance and benefits of the closer ratio.
