i have a 408 i would like to put in a trailblazer!
i want the overdrive!which trans should i use?
4L60E,4L65E or a 4L80E ,If i use the 80 how hard is it to convert the wire to run the trans?

the 80E supposly has gearing similar to a TH400. like the 60E its comparable to the TH350 as for gear ratios. from what i read ppl with the 80s are stepping up in gear to help make up the difference. also the 80E will rob more power then the 60E

an 80e doesnt use a band like a 60e and the clutches are alot stronger and built differentle.
if you put the 80e in and then you step up on the stall probably 400-600rpms higher you will probably not notice a difference. I have a buddy with a 408 in a trans am and he is on his 6-7 60e becuase he doesnt want to loose the power. He is now looking at buying a conversion kit from speed engineering.
