Default ST3500 and transgo?

I have been getting mixed opinions about whether or not to put in the Transgo with the
Yank ST3500. I will run 3.42s in the rear w/ an Auburn differential. If i just put it on level 1 of
firmness would that be alright? I don't want to roast this converter, or my tranny. I don't have
$1200 for a new tranny. Should I just leave it out??? Thanks for all help.

Just the opposite of what you're thinking. The shift kit will help your tranny. Level 3 is mandatory with such a loose converter. If you don't get level 3 installed you might have slow shifts. You will not harm you tranny in any way with a transgo shift kit.

Of all people to respond, look who it is! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

I also originally thought that the Transgo helps the transmission by beefing it up. On the Yank website it states that shift kits increase line pressure and are NOT recommended with their converters. This is part of my reasoning, along with some members telling of how they roast their trannies with transgo and a converter. It is very loose though I agree (well it will be). Anyone else?

I had the same question in mind scott. I just installed my SY3500 and I would like my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts to be more firm. If you put it in and it works out good for you let us know.

Yank is talking about different kind of shift kits. They are talking about those like B&M that increase line pressure and wear out the tranny.
