Default 460le rebuild question

im getting it rebuilt wiht a stall tranny cooler vette servo and MAYBE a shift kit....the reason my tranny blew in the T/A in the first place was cause of way to much line pressure, just wondering would it be safe to get a shift kit put in? or would i be breaking more ****

Hi Steez.

I shift kit done right will better your tranny. It replaces a lot of the weak tranny parts that come stock with the car. You'd be amazed how crappy some of the components are. Guys usually run into problem if they try to bump up the firmness too much and get too aggressive with a kit. You can do as much harm as good, but most guys will tell you that used right, it will really improve the life of your tranny.

There's a good company that sells modified shift kits - something like Pro-Build Automatics. Dana is real knowledgable and his prices are good. A lot of guys like his work. That's what I have.

Only trouble is finding a good shop in our area to does this work.

Yes, transgo is very good. Likely the best. Check out that website I posted.
