Wow, you are much more patient with that trans guy than I would be. 27 miles after forking over a grand or two? No frickin way. I would keep bringing it back to him until it lived.

I paid $500 for the freshen up and I'm in the process of trying to get my money back. The way I see it is if he can't fix it the first time I don't want to keep going thru it over and over. These damn things aren't the easiest to pull in and out.

Vince can you shoot me a price on a built 4L60E also? I am putting out right around 450-470 HP. I currently am running the TCI SF 3k stall also. Currently having mine rebuilt for the second time but a ready to change it out with one that will last.

Thanks

Just ordered a Level 3 from FLP with their upgraded Input/Shell setup from the Level 4 and Vacuum Modulation. Vince and Chuck were extremely helpful and I'm stoked about finally being able to enjoy my car.

Listen up...your transmission is a slave to the car ,computer, associated wireing, battrey voltage, and the list goes on...when your transmission burns up you must find the cause and address it before you put another one in or the new transmission will do the same thing.....you know burn up! and yes it can also be from an improper tune..Hope this helps ..Dave
Very true. I went through a bunch of rebuilds that were good to handle a ton of power that were built by a local shop. The problem is that they were all runing too hot, and would burn up eventually. No one could figure out why they would burn up. By hot I mean temperatures well over 220 under hard driving. I then got a FLP trans(now is FLT), and the trans still got hot. I didn't want to put mileage on it since I knew it would burn up eventualy in my car, so I sold the trans, even sold him my trans cooler, and in his car was running within operating temperature. To me that means my car was at fault.
I never figured out if the problem was the wiring, the tune, voltage, or who knows. I just got a th400 and have been happy.

You use a vacuum line for line pressure and have to manually shift it. No computer control what so ever.
I was a M6 anddid not want to get6 a harness etc.
Also eliminates the tuning/computer BS.

i guess i'm gonna have to go behind the rock on pimp/ cheerleader. this joker dosen't know anythin about any of my cars. unlike him with his one lonley salvaged car i have four. with four different automatic trannies. all he can do is talk trash and most of it is BULLSH... i wish he could stick to the facts. i got a junk tranny from rock on. it too, like cableboys is sitting in my shop. one of these days i'll get around to opening it up & we'll post up some pics. let us know how that 4L80 works when you get time. i'm sure we are all on the edge of our seats. hope this helps

Vince the new tranny in the convert is working great 6.8 1/8 on drag radials thru the exhust. i'm happy i just finished a 69 ss blown small block i had a local guy build me a 700R4. this is a driver as well ps,pb, & air dynoed 430RWHP. we'll see if this build holds. i won't be taking this one to the track!

feel the love......anyone using hydraulic tractor fluid in their tranny? some of the fastest 200r4 trannies for the turbo buick crowd are using it.
