Default The converter is in.

Finished it at the shop this morning. It's raining here, so I can't really tell how it's gonna feel when i've got some dry pavement, and I can tune the shifts a little with my Predator. If i have to, i'll pull the pan off and manually turn the pressure up again. Trans temp only rose about 10 degrees over stock. I'll let you guys know how it feels when it stops raining!

The shifts feel way softer now, but so far, I really like it. It's a 3400 stall Fuddle. So, what's my next step, gentlemen? I'm headed for 12's on a daily driver. Any ideas?

b.t.w., John Fuddle, if you're reading this, you've got another satisfied customer! Almost as much fun to drive now as a manual!

s346k, You're right, his name IS John Cameron. What the hell is a 'Fuddle' then?
Anyway, Slimcracka, you've got a similar setup as mine, how quick is yours? Did you firm up your shifts at all?

damn! nice numbers man... so pretty much your running low 12's with intake exhaust tq convertor and suspension mods? that's outstanding! how does it daily drive? does it lock up on the high way the same as stock? all my mechanics look at me with a third eye when i tell them its gonna lock up like stock on the highway and what not... This is what Jon told me, how does it drive my friend?

I get 28 mpg at 63mph. I was getting 27 before. I like this TC and it does seem a little loose, around town, but that only makes the car sound better, but WHENEVER you mash the peddle, NO dead spots, ,I used to hate that 40 ish,.... seem to bog down , if some one was reving me, i would like to hit her at that sweet 38 mph spot, now it goes when you want to, happy happy feller I am. money well spent.

Now I'm thinking of that cam, heads, etc.
but it is a DD, so I dont want to loose too much of that.

I'm new to this stall converter idea, so can someone tell me how it works? does the car wait till 3800 rpm to start moving, or is that dependent on how hard you step on the gas pedal. What is a good number to choose for a daily driver with a mild cam?

Thanks

Larry

yes I would recommend searching too, you'll find a lot. but also talk to jon at fuddle he was very good at answering my dumb questions...

....For me it did'nt matter how many post's I read I had to here it from a convertor guy for me to feel like I understood what it was going to do, and even then I was not 100% sure. I just put a 3400 in but have not had a chance to drive it much. I'll do yet another thread when I form my opinion on it.... good luck, have fun.
