98 v6 tranny?

98 v6 tranny? got a ? i'm not sure at all if 98+ v6 f-bodies have the 4l60e or not cause my friend found a totalled 98 v6 with 25k miles and they want $550 for the tranny. I was wondering if i can use that tranny to replace my broken tranny or is it much diffent? need to know asap ifs its a 4l60e or not thanx!

It has the same ratios if it is a V6 or V8. The only setup difference is the rear gear. Now I would think the bellhousing would be different, but the guts of the tranny would be the same.
