tranny cooler leaking....WTF

Default tranny cooler leaking....WTF

I noticed the other day that on my driveway there is something leaking. From the area(right front it seems) the only thing it seems possible is oil from maybe catch can or tranny cooler lines or something. anybody had problems with this before? Im no mechanic so please bare with me on this. TIA

Mine was doing that...it happened to be one of the lines where the clamps were. Just re-tighten them to make sure.

The color/consistency of the fluid should tell you where to look. Is your cooler mounted "dope" style? Hose connections tight and dry? Could also be dexcool, positive battery post leaking (if original Delco)...

yeah its the original delco battery. how do you mean dope style?

Check that positive battery post, happened to a friend of mine under warranty - gave him a new one - leaked again 2 years later. Dope style cooler mounting is horizontally under the right front, just forward of the air dam.

are you sure that the positve battery post would leak like that?? any other comments on this?

Happens all the time - does the spot look kinda green when dry? Easy to check, if it's the post leaking it'll make a mess.

If it's the post leaking you should be able to see it with a bright light directed at the terminal.
