i've done a ton of searches and i know i can get the 700r4 tranny and converter to work with a spacer and longer bolts. But is there any reason why my current converter wont work with a 30 spline 700r4?

reason i ask is i recently bought a fuddle 3600 and did a cam install and my 70k tranny held for a week. But my buddy has a freshly built 700r4 sitting in his garage that he ended up not using that wants to get rid of it for like $200.

so i'd like to use my brand new converter if at all possible.

 

Not possible. The 700-R4 (4L60) has a shorter input shaft than the LS1 4L60E.
