Default Vig conveters.

I'm looking to buy a TC very soon, and have heard great things about vig/fuddle/yank, but lean toward the vig myself. My main concern is that most people say that vig's tcs are underrated.

Is a vig 3500 too big for the mods I have? (Lid/filter/throttlebody/full exhaust)
Should I get a vig 3200 instead? Most everyone seems to love those.

Their stall ratings seem to be underrated compared to other brands on the market. I have ran almost every brand of converter on the market for the 4L60E and have blown up more trannys and converters than I like to admit. In my opinion the Vigilante converters by Precision Industries is the highest quality converter on the market. I have ran converters from 2800 to 4600 stall. The absolute best I have ran is the Vig 3200 stall. It's street manners are impecable but it really shows it's stuff at the track. Do a search on Vig 3200 and read all the praise for yourself. It costs a little more but it's worth evey dollar you pay for it.

I absolutely love my vig3200, my best 60' before converter was a 1.81

My best 60' is now a 1.51

Avging 1.5x's on good track prep........Low to mid 1.6's on crappy prep.

Vigs do stall higher - the 3200 is an excellent choice.

there is a chance your tranny, if its stock won't hold up. i took a chance and threw my vig 3200 in and it didn't make 1 succesful run. i do know of a few people who have done the same thing and are still running the stock tranny. if i was going to do it again i would have just bought a built tranny from the beginning.

I loved the vig3200 when I had it. It is an awesome stall on the street and great at the track. And I agree with it actually stalling higher.

I recently switched to a higher stall for the track and I need to sale my mine. PM me about it if you want some info on it.

I thought I had a Vig 3600 but after I traded it in on a Multi-Disc 3600 I was told that it was actually a 3200. My new Vig is way looser than my old stall. I loved my old stall I cut multiple 1.50 60' times it was a great converter. I haven't been to the track since the new stall so I can't compare it to the old one yet.

Another vote for the 3200 vig. Have had mine for 4 years and over 30k miles. Trans took a dump about 6k miles ago and I had the vig flushed and cut through PI. Said it was in great shape inside.

I cut mid/late 1.6's with it with 3.23 gears and 3700 lb raceweight.

Awesome pic! I love seeing cars with 17 inch wheels bringing the front end up. Especially when the car looks stock.

Thanks SSPEEDY ! That goes to show you that you don't have to have that 4000 to 4400 king-kong killer converter to leave pretty good. Unless that what you want ,thats cool. But for the guy who goes to the track every once an awhile , you can't beat a 3200 Vigilante IMHO.

by the way ,that was a .501 re-action time on that pass.
