one thing i dont know about for an a4 though is a stall...i have always been a little confused as to what exactly it does and why so many people insist on throwin stalls in the a4's

Imagine 2 fans, faceing each other, turn one on and the air it blows turns the other one right? Well thats basicly what a stall converter does, except the "fans" are pushing tranny fluid, not air.

A stall with a high rpm rateing will not move enough fluid to overcome the car's brakes until a spesific rpm is reached (i have a 3600rpm stall, but you can get them from 2200-4400rpm). Basicly this alows you to launch the car at a higher rpm than stock. Basicly like doing a clutch drop in a manual car.

Thats a very basic rundown, theres lots of other things like STR that someone who knows more than me could tell you about, but thats the basics.
