converter problem

converter problem I just recently had my transmission rebuilt and I had the guy put a 2800 stall converter in it. after about 8000 miles the converter burned up. I am not sure if he up graded the pump or not. Could the be my problem? What is the stock pump in the 4l60? Seven vein?

The it is a 96 ta and i am not sure about the tc. When i had the transmission rebuilt the guy took my stock convertor and sent it off and and 2800 was sent back to me. It was not a rebuild of mine but a new one.
