Well it looks as if my clutch packs have gone out in the tranny. What what i have been told, and done a little reading, this seems common in our cars.


Instead of just spending money to replace them, I guess now is the time to go in the tranny, and get the job done.

I have been looking around for some good rebuild kits.

I think i have found one, but would ask yalls advice and see if you guys agreed with me on my selection or would recommend another one.

Not sure if they are a vendor on here or not, but the company is called Pro-Built Automatics.

The kit is a 4L60E/LS1 Rebuild Kit Pro Street w/vacuum modulator

The kits is almost $650, but i dont want to be cheap in my tranny.

Im pretty convinced on this kit, just wanted to know what yall thought and if anyone else has this kit or another kit from this company ??

bro just get a 4l60e "banner kit" its about 90 bucks then get the 3-4 hd clutch pack kit its like 40 bucks 9 clutches instead of 6 but get a dial indicator so you can play with the clearances get them about .025...get a 13 vane from pump more volume beast sunshell and a superior shift kit just follow the instructions....kevlar band...if you get a cup plug fromm the park pawl in a 41te chrysler tranny and pull the ball and capsule out of the bore right behind the servo and put that cup plug into there all the way up iy will increase the apply pressure to 3rd and 4th you will have about 275 to 325 with this all that other stuff in those kits you wont need and if you do because it is worn or broken then buy it the parts are cheap seperatley...kolene steels are also a good idea

This is a very good kit looks like it comes with everything to built a good 550hp 4l60e The 10 vane pump is a big + over the 13 He also uses borg-warner clutches another big +, Dan at probuilt is a very good guy to deal with i have spoke with him in the past he will set up the transgo shift kit for you depending on your application witch is one of the key thing to getting a small converter 4l60e to live years other than months
