Default Transgo reprograming Kit

I had the 4L60E HD2 transgo shift kit put in my Camaro. It said that it suposse to give me regular shifts when I am in OD and manual when I choose to shift. Am I understanding this right? Because it shifts great but has no Manual control. If you take off in 1st isn't it suposse to nail second when I move the gear selector from 1st to 2nd? Because it doesn't. The tranny man said he put everything in there and drilled the holes in the plate for the stall convertor. My question would be what part of the reprograming kit controls this function?

It'll only upshift manually if it's programmed to shift at a lower rpm/throttle position.
In other words if it's programmed to shift wot 2-3 at 100 mph automatically it won't manually upshift below 100 mph.
If you program it to shift wot 2-3 at 5 mph it'll manually upshift pretty much whenever you shift it.
This isn't typically done though so don't do it, I guess.
