Default trouble launching with converter

I got a 2001 Trans Am with most of your basic bolt ons. My best time up the track was a 12.86, forget the mph (107-108). I haven't put my drag radicals on this year but just installed a vig3200. Besides the stalling problem once in a while love it. Anyways just took a few rides down the local street strip for fun by myself, besides the few imports i had fun tailgating while they raced but thats another story. On the launch my revs along with my tires just smoke all the way up to the rev limited which is set a 6600. I tryed shifting at 4500 instead at over 5000 which did help. Al I'm wondering is whats the best way to launch out of 1st cause it revs so fast. Just trying to learn how to launch better with the vig3200 befire the SLP LT(no cats) and MAFT get put in. real quick what you think I might pull in the 1/4? Torque converter launch is most important. Any input would help thanks.

honestly when i launch on the 3200 i hardly ever stall it more than 1500 out of the hole. granted i am on nittos all the time but what you may want to try is disconnect the battery so the ecu re-learns proper shifts points with the new converter. before i did this i was hitting the rev limiter in first every time and now its of no concern. if you are going to remain on street tires for awhile i would suggest launching at no more than 1000 rpms or there is little you can hope for as far as traction is the issue.

Do the relearn procedure, but once you start spinning your shifts get messed up. That is your main problem.

The key is to learn to launch hard with minimal or no spin. Stall it to 1000 and step into it, building to WOT as it hooks up, rather than just mashing it.
