Default TC Not Unlocking?

Well I got the new cam put in finally in and I took it for a drive the other day. The problem came up when I went to pass a car on the highway. The TC would not unlock @ all. I tried flooring it and tried snapping the throttle, sitll nothing? The car just seems to bog and excelerate very slowly. This does not happen @ any other time the TC is locked up, only in 4th gear. Never had this problem w/ my old cam. Anyone got any suggestions. Thanks, Mike

I don't suppose you have tuning software/scanner? If you do, you might check P0121 Min/Max. If your cam idles outside the min/max MAP range, your transmission will become retarded and act as you described.
If you don't have software, well....you probably have no idea what the hell I just said.

Wouldn't I be getting an SES light if this was the case?

Not necessarily. After I put my cam in, I was having tranny issues like you but was not setting an SES light or storing any codes in the pcm that I could see. I found a thread in the tuning section that suggested raising the min/max values for p0121 by 10-15 kpa so I tried it and the eratic shifting problems were fixed.
