Problems with transmission shifting.....Please Help!!
We set the rev limiter to 6700 and made 7 passes with the shaeffer shifter. It shifted hard for six of these and the other one was user error. As for the rating I think it is a little high myself, but I knew a couple low 10 second cars with this tranny and it seemed to be good. I only put about 425 to the wheels NA, so the tranny shouldn't have a problem. Thanks for the input.
Don't mean to jack the post, but I just came back from E-Town and my car is doing the EXACT same thing. Banging the limiter on the 2-3 shift. I reduced the shift MPH and RPM (65, 5800), but still tagging the limiter. I have a vac. mod., so the force motor settings shouldn't come into play. I'm gonna delete the codes posted earlier (not setting light, but didn't scan for them) and see if that helps. Am I missing something here? I've got another race in a month and wanna be ready! I went 12.28 hitting the limiter, 11's here I come! Thanks in advance for any help ang again I apologize for jacking!
First off I would call around at a local transmission shop and find someone with a schaeffer shifter. Have them hook it up and check it. This should tell you if it is an internal transmission problem or a problem with the ecu or tuning.
The shifter plugs into the large plug on the tranny and allows you to shift it at the flick of a switch. So test it at 2-3 wot and see if it still hits the limiter. Just make sure you give it enough rpm to shift (~400rpm). If it does then it is probably the tranny and not the tune. or vice versa. Keep us up to date. Good luck.

Are you using the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit "as is" with the vacuum modulator? or just the vacuum modulator? What other modifications, if any, were done to these units? There are things that can be done to solve this, as long as the 3-4 clutches are in decent shape, and have more than the stock amount of 6. Let me know?
