Default auto tran problem

Hey guys. I have an 02 TA WS6 with 47k miles. In the past few days, under normal driving conditions, when I accelerate, instead of shifting at around 2500 or so rpms, it will go all the way up to 3500 and 4000 and I let off the gas for it to shift. THEN, when I was on the interstate, I was going about 65 and hammered it and the rpms got to about 6000 or 6500 and just sat there, shaking the damn car until I let off the gas, then it would shift and go ahead. Seems to be running normally and shifting fine other than that. Any ideas????????? I've never done any type of tuning or modifications btw. The only place I know to take it is to the Pontiac dealership. Thanks!
