I did a search on this subject and came up with several people who seem to have had the same noise coming from their tranny but with no real answer as to what may be causing the noise. My car is a 98 SS w/ auto..... when shifting from park to reverse (not all the time though) a series of clicks come from what sounds like the tranny. It will always do it after it has been sitting but it may or may not do it after driving. The noise does not seem to be hurting anything but I was wondering if anyone has found an exact problem to this issue, as I have read others who have had a similiar noise?

My car does the same thing. Mine is a 2001. I'm not convinced it's coming from the tranny though. My car has done it since I got it. I wish I knew exactly what it was.
