trans wont down shift

trans wont down shift my brother has a 01 formula with stage 2 cartek heads and cam and a 3600 vigilante stall had the trans built about three months ago before he had the trans built it would pull strong to 6800 rpms but now on the dyno it pulls to 5800 and the hp falls off real bad and struggles to pull higher than 5800 it also will not down shift into any gear at WOT if any would could help it would be great thanks everyone
I would first get a scan tool on the car. You need to see if the computer is commanding the down shifts. It might not be a trans problem. There is a solenoid in the valve body to command a 3-2 shift. This solenoid could be a problem and possiably a 3-2 shift valve spring that could be broken. Has he conacted the builder to discuss his issue's? If this trans is still under warrenty the builder I would think would want to help you out. Good luck and let us know what happens. Vince.
