Automatic gearbox questions... Hi im pretty new to this site and American cars,i just bought an 1982 Pontiac Firebird.
Got it pretty cheap cuz the auto gearbox slips on gears,well the seller told me it has an 305 engine with an TH700 gearbox.
That gearbox only got 3 speed and i would like to replace it with a 4 speed gearbox.
Is there any gearbox that i could bolt on without any modification to the engine or the rest of the car that i can use for my Pontiac???

The former owner told me it was a TH700 gearbox,anyway i need to change it cuz this one is bad,so i need some info about a 4 spped auto gearbox that would fit in with the Pontiac engine...
