Default New to auto, switching from M-6

Due to me totaling my car i will be moving my drivetrain over to a SS camaro with a 4l60e. I will be going with a vigilante 3200 stall and will use my old rear end with my 3.42 gears as the rear in the camaro is not good. Is this ratio going to be ok with my combo? Like I said, I have zero experience with autos on f-bodys. Will I lose gas milage with this change? I expect to.What about hwy crusing? I just have so many unknowns here. This is my DD.Any help will be appreciated. My mods are below except car is totaled!

it will be ok with 3.42 they are not to bad you rpms will be a little higher cruising but i used to drive mine from ft stewart to daytona evry weekend at an average of 90 down i-95 a 225 mile trip and i would still have a 1/4 tank left in daytona its not that bad really the 3.23 would be more optimal but the auto really liked to work with the 2.73 ratio

Thanks for the reply man! I'm kinda looking forward to going auto after doing all this damn shifting all the time! I remember the good ole days of my BB chevelle and its maual valve body TH-400. Point and click and 9.97 there I went! :-) Now a BIT slower car and an extra gear will make for a great DD that still runs hard. I ran a 12.38 at 114! I wonder what this auto set-up will net me? Hmmmmmm.
