Default Tranmission Sound

Hey guys, im new here and i just picked up a 1998 Camaro Z28. This is my first Fbody and there are some things about it that im not sure are common problems, or are part of normal operation.

So here it is, when i shift from Reverse to Drive or Drive to Reverse, the tranmission makes a noise louder than a regular gear change. The car has slight movement and the driveshaft seems to be clanking. Is that normal sounds for Fbodies?

I would look into slop in the rearend or a bad ujoint. Also check your mounts.

Replacing the U joint should give me a smoother shift? How much does that usually run for?

I hear that the rear ends of Fbodies are common problems for making strange noises, i have to check on it, however, if it is the case, what should I do? The car has 105k miles on it so i figure some parts of the car has to be dying. The car still takes of strong and the only issue that annoys me is the sound of changing gears. you guys know any troubleshooting books i can pick up or a onling guide?
