Default NEED HELP!!! Just installed a McLeod single disk and adjustable master cylinder...

So I had the clutch installed today and I just got done putting in the adjustable master cylinder. I've bench bled it, hooked it into the transmission and bled that with the bleeder just above the connector until the new fluid started to flow through it pretty good. However, after doing everything I think I needed the pedal is firm only at the last 1" of the stroke towards the floor. Otherwise there is absolutely no pedal what so ever!

In fact, it feels just like it did with the factory master cylinder before I took it out. Very little engagement.

I've dialed the connecting rod end up and down the whole length of the thread with no change in the overall pedal feel. What the hell am I missing here?

Try this... Take the feed line off the slave cylinder. Take a cup of brake fluid and use a 90 degree pick to hold the check valve on the line open. You'll see the check valve inside the end of the slave cylinder side of the line, its under some spring pressure. Anyway, hold that valve open and submerge it in the brake fluid and get someone to hand pump the clutch pedal a couple of times slowly. Probably have to pull the pedal up manually too. You should see bubbles purging from the line as your doing that, after you don't see any more reconnect the feed line. Then pump the pedal up a couple of times, it may try to stick to the floor still, just pull it back up. Remember to keep the reservior full while doing this. This method worked pretty well on the last one I did. I usually use a reverse pressure bleeder, but didn't have it handy. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
