i just got a manual 6 speed trans out of an audi S4 for free. i was wondering if anyone has swapped one of these into there car or if you know the dimensions/specs of the trans.

Any ideas on how hard it would be? my camaro is a 1998 Z/28 A4

 

Hmm...Dude, I don't know if an audi 6 speed is built for 300rwhp/300ft/lb (at least)....

I have no idea if that would in any way bolt up, but i'm gonna have to go with no way. I can't see it though so I couldn't tell you.

At the very most, it could work but you wouldn't be able to program it.

firstly, i can't see an audi transmission bolted up to an LS1.

secondly, how would you tune for it? there is certainly no way to program the PCM to function with an audi transmission.

thirdly, i doubt it'll take more punishment than a 4L60E. the 4L60E isn't a great trans, but it's actually a lot stronger than most automatic transmissions on the road. very very few trannies can take what we put down stock.
