Default Drivetrain issues

Couple of months ago I blew up my tranny so I replaced it with FLT level 5 tranny. However I reused the converter (PT4000) from the old trans in the new one. Since then I've been having the following issues

-Pulsating vibration at ~4000 rpm. Seems to happen in 3rd & 4th gears only.

-Converter does not unlock when I give it slight gas, instead it surges & kinda goes unlocked-locked-unlocked-locked...& so on. It unlocks successfully only when it down shifts 4-3 or 3-2, or when I hit the brakes.

I know the second problem could be tuning related, however I changed lots of parameters & triple checked everything via LS1-Edit, and was not able to solve the problem.

Does this sound like a tranny issue or a converter issue? Could I have a bad lock-up clutch?

Did you have the converter flushed before you put it in? If not then you probably had some trash in there from the old trans and it made its way into the new one.

Yes. The converter as well as tranny cooler lines were flushed.
