Default Rebuilding a 4L60E any advice?

Well, the tranny in my Mom's van ('95 GMC Safari) went out. It's a 4L60E like in the F-bodys. I refuse to pay $1400 plus change for a local moron to "rebuild" the transmission.

I've found a master rebuild kit (all the non-hard parts) for like $150. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a rebuild manuel for the 4L60E?

And for anyone that has done one, any advice or tips on how to do it?

Thanks for any help you could give.

get a good rebuild or buy a new one..... These transmissions are weird. I have had 3 rebuilds. the one before the last had 3 track passes on it and thats it(it blew on the way home from the track) This rebuild is doing ok.

It is worth the extra money to get a quaility rebuild or a new tranny.

Have you considered calling FLP to see what it would cost to have it rebuilt with stock parts? I don't think a level IV would be in order. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> (630)820-9294
