Default Stall question

I know I'm gonna get alot of flak about this, but I put a 2400 stall in my el camino. It has a strong 383, TCI TH350 trans, 2.42 gears, swapping to 3.23 and some really really crappy small, skinny tires. The problem i am having is that it doesn't even stall up to 2000 rpm. Is it that i have silly tires, or my gears being to high, seems like i should be able to stall it higher though. It stalls up to about 1800-1900 rpm and the tires just start spinnin. I hear ya gotta i losen up the stall by stalling and launching it a few times, but i still never got it to stall to 2000. I drove it almost daily for a while, and it never gave me any problems as far as driveability. love to hear some input. thanks again guys.

It is the tires. Get something better under there and it should stall higher.
