Humor me in my sleep deprived delerium(?)

Is there any special tools that one would need to rebuild an auto trans?

1)Clutch pack compressor (about $10, usually a couple of c-sections mounted on a piece of all-thread)

2)Seal installer kit. You may be able to talk ( <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" /> works good ) your tranny parts guy into loaning you this.

3)Good snap ring pliers ranging in size from small to large. Otherwise snap rings WILL make you CRAZY <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Everything else you should be able to ad-lib if you are crafty <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

It helps to have a slide hammer to pull the pump out, but it's not an absolute necessity.
