Budget 4L60-E rebuild?

Being that my car is a daily driver and I do not drive it hard very often, and being that it has over 146k miles on it, what would ya'll suggest doing about rebuilding the tranny for the least possible money? I will be doing the work myself, but have never delt with these transmissions before. Thanks.

I dont think the word "budget" and 4l60 can be used in the same sentence. You need to replace almost everything in them.

If you do it yourself and shop around for parts, it can be done for around $1000 with a fair stall converter, less with a factory converter.

If this is going to be your first transmission just take it out of your car and take it to the shop, and put it back in yourself.

The guy the built my trans does a budget rebuild for $750 including stock convertor. Another $150 to pull and put back in. He does charge any extra for HD parts. He says it takes the same amount of time. So I bought all my HD parts on line for him to put in it. He is in Kingsport, TN.
