In first gear my car was going about 15mph at around 4k rpms not excelerating all that fast could something be wrong with my transmission or torque conveter? I have 3.73's according to the gear page on f-body.org it should of been doing close to 27mph.
It's just a stock tc. I just had a S60 rear end put on the car but i dont think it would cause it to do that. the other gears seem normal for the most part. Before i broke the rear end i would mess around with it in first and second and in first you would have to give it gas while going down the street or else it would slow down to like 5mph real fast. Now it just seems to coast a little. The transmission has been shifting really hard all the time now too since the rear end was put in if that makes a difference. I'm not sure what it could be but i was planning on just getting a rebuild kit and rebuilding the whole thing over winter because if there is something wrong with it i dont want to find out next summer and then not have the car again for a while.
Do you have any other problems? Does it shift ok? Are you sure you were going 15? I think the computer has to be calibrated so that the speedometer works right, someone correct me if I'm wrong. If your were not accelerating* all that fast, does that mean you weren't giving it much gas? If so the car should be shifting into 2nd. Cause if that is the case I hope you didn't blow your trans. Or it may even be your tc isn't locking up...who knows? need more info

Here is what i did i know its not the smartest thing to do but i dropped it into first gear at a stop sign and pretty much rolled into the gas and the rpms got up to around 4k but it wasnt excellerating all that quick. Now that i think about it the one night it was acting wierd also i had it in regular drive/3rd and i completely floored it, it down shifted, and the rpms shot up and it took off but didn't feel like it was going to shift back into third. I'm not sure what it is because the only thing that has changed is the rear end.
So here is what i have noticed with the new rear end in. The tranny shifts hard 90% of the time, car barely moves in reverse or drive at idle, past day or two it seems to shift differently sometimes going 35mph down the street it downshifts i think (or unlocks the converter i don't know) when i give it some gas and starts excellerating and sometimes it doesn't. I though it might have been from when i cleaned the k&n filter but it had worked fine for around 100 miles on the old rear end.
Could it just be the heavier rear end and i'm assuming larger drive shaft throwing the computer off?
Sounds like the same thing mine was doing when my pcm was not calibrated to the gears. Would shift hard and go into OD at around 25mph and just act really strange. My predator tuner had a issue with gear changes, so it had to have special tire sizes put in to recalibrate to pcm for the 3:42's. Are you sure the last rear was 3:73's? But you said it didn't accelerate that fast even in 1st, so that is something else.
Yeah the guy who owned the car before me had 3.73's put in the original 10 bolt rear end. So i know it shouldn't have made a difference with me switching from the 10 bolt to the S60. I just think it might be the tranny going bad or something because its got 76k miles on it and its not driven easy all the time. Idk maybe this winter or early next year it will just be taken apart and checked out. It's just wierd old rear end did it once in a while new one it does it all the time.
