Default 4l60 to th350

i have a buddy with a built th350 laying around and i was wondering if it would be considerably easier to swap with a 4L60 rather than a 4L60E.
the tranny shop i called said it would be tough with all the electronics and **** so i looked it up to find that 93s isnt electronically controlled. is this gonna be easier than i thought? whats a decent price for the swap?

BAD IDEA
1- lost low end power due to higher ratio in 350
2- lost fuel economy due to no overdrive
if you actually drive this car. it will cost you more in fuel and low end launch within a few months that you saved

TH350 is a good swap depending on what your plans are. You've got 3.23's, so not having overdrive isn't a big deal. You can get a deeper gear put in the TH350 for about $300, which gives it the same ratio as a 4L60e, therefore eliminating the low end issue. Around here, we get built 350's for about $1100 with the deep gear. As far as the swap goes, I don't have any experience going from a 4L60 to TH350, but the things I can remember from a 60e that you'll need are flexplate, crossmember, shifter, and a 36" dipstick. I do not remember how the speedometer thing works, so I can't help you with that.

like i said i can get the tranny for dirt cheap from a buddy of mine, so the only cost would be getting the deeper gear thrown in. what do you think all that other **** needed is gonna run me

That and getting a hardened intemediate sprag thrown in there while you're at it. Trust me on this one, it seems to be the one problem everyone has. You don't HAVE to get the tubular crossmember, but the BMR was like $450 I believe. Honestly, I don't remember the prices on all the other stuff. Do a search and you'll find what you're looking for.
