need help....
tranny has a ticking sound coming from it near the front. ticking goes away for split second while changing gears and then comes back. someone told me it might be a cracked flywheel. my dad listened to it through the inspection hole and thinks it is the flywheel or something behind it. anyone got any ideas. thanks

well it was night so i couldnt tell but i just drove/coasted to a local tranny shop. made one last "ching" sound and then free revved. coasted about an 1/8th mile uphill before turning into the garage. so does this sound like a flexplate cuz i dont want to get ripped off again because ive never used this local builder

sweet, nottt........just found out the front pump is gone on the tranny. thats friggin awesome, 2nd tranny at 78k, 3rd tranny going in at 82k . I love 4l60's im guessing the flywheel was out of balance or the yank converter is bad because i havent even run the truck full throttle more than about 5 times. oh well maybe its time to get a newer truck with a 6.0 and an 80 behind it

sooo you got a built tranny from rock on and it broke after 5k miles?
4l60s arent the problem....you can build them to be harder then a t56, there faster in the long run at the track then a t56...YOU just have to know what to do with them
id take a built 4l60 over some borg warner trash anyday
