Default How long will my A4 last?

Im curious how long my 4l60-e will last. My fastest time at the track was 11.67 and the only mods to my tranny are the vig 3600 and a cooler. I plan on spraying a 100 shot eventually, I have noticed no problems with slippage or anything like that. My car has 47K miles on it. Once I have enough money saved up to install a th-400 I plan on upping the spray until I brake the 4l60-e. What do you all think?

It's a crap shoot. Might break the first time you spray (don't spray through the shift btw, get a window switch) and it might last several seasons. Good luck to ya though!

Like jimm98 said, a window switch is a necessity if you are gonna spray. I have 106k on my ORIGINAL STOCK 4l60e with a midwest 3600stall. I also have a trans cooler almost the size of my radiator. As long as you take care of your tranny, (change the fluid every once in a while for crying out loud) it shouldnt have a problem even with the spray. I am about to spray a 75 shot and i am not worried about it one bit. Also, unless you are going REALLY fast, dont go with the th400. You will be gearbound as hell and there are 4l60's that will hold more than what you are gonna throw at it IMO.

my trans is slipping right now. i sprayed mine through the shifts which prob screwed it up but damn did that thing haul ***. So now i have bought a beast sunshell, 5 pinion rear planetary, and a 3500 stall, oh and also a TCI pro rebuild kit so it should hold up now.

Yea I am aware of that, thats the main reason I didn't do the th400 swap before the nitrous. Once I swap in the th400 Im upping the shot to probably 150hp and going for 10s.

I probably should have re-phrased my original post, I realize there is no real answer I guess what I was looking for was advice and prior experinces, which I got.

Thanks guys

advice= start saving for the th400 or a built 4l60e. till then, well, how much do you like driving your car? . if you don't mind some down-time then spray that bitch, if you drive it every day or alot i'd wait on it. you'll likely be well into the 10's with a shot so that 4l60e won't last too long.

if you don't spray or cam it, it'll probably last a long time.

if you start spraying it - especially through shifts - save up for a new one because it'll probably only last a few months.

if you run a cam and change your shift points - even less.

the two worst things you can do to a 4L60E is up shift points and spray it IMO.
