Default Tips for installing Pro 5.0???

Anyone have any tips to make the install go better/cleaner? Anything to do to possibly lessen the noise I'm going to be letting in? Anything to look out for so as not to break it or ruin any parts....?? TIA

Project trans am has a complete install on the pro 5.0 shifter. I install done one my trans am and i used a paper gasket to make a gasket for the shifter. I still get noise ive tried everything ull just have to live wit the noise. But o well it is a better shifter than the stock hurst one......lol....it might be due how the gasket is cut and pulled around the shifter letting the noise threw the stick itself.. But god luck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I cut a gasket out of cork gasket material and put a thin coating of RTV on both sides of it before bolting the shifter in. Mine's even more quiet than the stock Hurst. If you want to shorten the throw on it, cut about an inch off the threaded end, my shift pattern is only about a 6" throw.

Funny you should mention the ProjectTransAm write up... I'm friends with Kelly Drown, the owner of the site... haha. I used to own the "old" Project TransAm (the red powerdyne'd LT1)
