How do you get the top two bolts out of the transmission?

Put together a bunch of extensions and get a universal joint on there and take your time. It can be a bitch but it isn't too hard. Drop the back end of the tranny down and that will give you more room. Don't be afraid to drop the tranny alot, it has a lot of downward play in it once the crossmember is out.

This is a 4l60e that you are working on correct? I believe that you are talking about the cooler lines. You can use a pick or a small screw driver to remove the clips that keep these lines snapped in. Just start on one of the ends of the clip to remove it from the fitting. Then simply pull the line out of the fitting. You can tighten the clip up a little before you re-install it on the cooler fitting before you re-install the trans. Start the clip in one of the slots and simply roll it around the fitting untill it is seated. When you get the trans back in, the trans lines will snap right in. Pull on them a little to make sure that they are secure. Hope this tech tip helps you. I have showed this to a few guy's at the shop and they couldn't believe it's that easy. Many people fight these things because they don't know any better. Good luck, Vince.

Some guy's also screw the fittings out of the trans as well.
