converter help

well stuck with this dacco 3300-3600 non lock up converter.Whats the deal with this lock up thing some say yes install other say no. Need a little advice thanks.

If you install a non lockup tc you should modify the pump. There is a kit made by transgo to modify the cooler flow for this application.

will it mess up the tranny and is dacco a good brand

I believe it can hurt the trans without the kit. I really have no exp. with dacco tc's.

how about viliglante will it work fine .with high stall will it be able to lock up and will it not heat up any more info would be great

Without a lockup TCC you run the risk of overheating your transmission. One of the things a locking clutch does for the 4L60E is keep the fluid temps down by mostly eliminating slippage (which is what torque converters do).

I wouldn't run a non-lockup converter without a really good transmission cooler.
