Default 4L60E Slipping Problem, 3-4 Clutch Pack?

3-4 Clutch Packs:

I am not a tranny person so I have a question I hope someone can help me with.

My car will not shift from 2-3rd at WOT (bangs the rev limiter forever). And when my car is on the freeway about 70 mph and I floor it it feels as if the trans is slipping. So, can both of these be caused by bad 3-4 clutch packs?

Can someone please explain what the 3-4 clutch packs do? What shifts are they responsible for? I would have figured since they are 3-4 clutch packs they controlled the 3-4 shifts. I know that is not the case since I have learned that the 3-4 clutch packs contorl the 2-3 shifts too.

So, what are the 3-4 clutch packs responsible for? Is it possible with bad ones to have it affect how the car jumps from a 70 mph roll when floored? Lastly, is it common for the 3-4 clutch packs to go out with as little as 25,000 miles?

The car has a 3600 Fuddle converter with a 2.3 STR.

Thanks,

Bill

Ok the 3-4 clutch pack is called that because it holds or transfers power in both 3rd and fourth gear, It does not transfer power in 1st 2nd or reverse.
most likley if its sjipping only in 3rd and fourth that would be the cause 3-4 clutch pack failure , And if something wrong presure wise they can fail in just very short few miles
