Is my tranny done?
Is my tranny done? I was giving a girl a ride home and wanted to show off 
so right around 35 I floored it and the RPM's rose quickly and I went nowhere. I played it off and didnt drive aggressively anymore. When I got back in my car and started it to go home my car started making a weird sound that had the same rhythm as my cars idle. I put it in reverse...and nothin. I put it in drive and it budged so I pushed it backwards and took off. On the ride home I noticed that the car would not shift into second unless I revved it past 3k and let off the gas and it wouldnt shift into any other gear. So I have 1st and 2nd thats it no Reverse, 3rd, or 4th. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and approx how much it would be to have it fixed?

I just got the trans back on Wednesday night. $1100 just for the rebuild, plus $725 shipped for a new Yank SS3600 converter. It it just a 700R4 though, so it's probably more to rebuild yours. I went with pretty much all of the upgraded internals so we'll see how long this trans lasts.

I have done that 3 in my 98, take it from me buy a good tranny and a tranny cooler and a good stall if you dont already have one. Remember you get what you pay for in most case's
No reverse,no second ,shifting 1 to 3 , you have a broken sun shell , So yes you will be needing a trans , Please take a minute and check out our offerings
