Default TH350 guys in here please.

Im about to do the TH350 swap into my 98TA. What crossmember and torque arm mount will I need? I know BMR sells a kit for this, but there has to be a cheaper way to do it. Any advise?

Your going to have to buy a TQ arm and mount. You may as well using something time test. If you don;t plan on running faster then low 11's high 10's why not just stick with the 4l60e ?

You will get more power with a stalled TH 350, plus is more durable and consistant.

Who is spreading this myth. The 4l60e is not a power hog by anymeans. From flywheel to tire a stock A4 car uses up about 40hp.you will find a 350 is about the same. A well preped 4l60e is fiarly consistent and durable close to a TH350 maybe better maybe worse but close.

Ive already toasted the 4L60 a couple times. Im tired of dealing with it. I have a TH350 with the hardened sprag assembly and heavy duty clutches. My motor is a forged 347 with a D1 running 14 psi, the 4L60 cant handle it.
Someone has to know a cheaper solution than the BMR crossmember.

Your 4l60 is not properly built. I have put them behind 427 T-trim procharger cars and they hold up just fine when properly built. some cars are running well into the 9's you just have to spend the money to properly build them. the turbo350 you will find is no more reliable and most of the good parts that go into 350's come out of the 4l60 like the low reverse support and a few others. If you this concerned about price get out the fabrication equipment and make one yourself becuase there aren't any supercheap options out there. Yank is makking some bolt in cross memebers that use stock style Tq arms you might wanna check into those they may be slightly more affordable.
