Wierd tranny problem

My trans won't do the 2-3 shift if the floor mate is removed. It will shift with the floor mate in place. What causes this?

I have never heard of this but heres some things to check ,
wires under carpet ,try this remove floor mate and use your foot to apply presure to various points and see if it will shift , STRANGE

I think it has more to do with the tps regestering more voltage, because its opening more.

Now if you had stated the question like this,lol

My car will not shift into third with my floor matt out at wide open throttle , I may have come to that conclusion to lol
The way you presented it you cant shift to 3rd ever with floor matt out lol
