Man you need to call Yank or TCI and they will want your complete setup. Good luck on getting a lot any reliable information here (LS 1 site) unless someone stumbles on your post. But the best method it to call converter people. I hear very good things about the help at 'Yank'.

I always say the biggest you can get the stall needed from. Less big end slip. I have always used an 8" on my slow car. 8.50 1/4 mile, 1050 HP, 3200lbs.
To be honest, I have already decided to go with a 9 or 9 1/2 inch when I put it back together again. I use Coan, I have some TCI's also, but they were all redone by Coan. My fast car uses a 10", but that is probably too big for only 1000 HP.
Good luck where ever you go, dialing in a converter can be a pain in the ***.
