STOCK WS-6 DAILY DRIVER WHICH CONVERTER?
THIS CAR IS MY DAILY DRIVER STOCK WITH 3.23 GEARS I'M GETTING 21 MPG NOW DON'T WANT TO RUIN MY GAS MILAGE.NO PLANS ON RACING BUT WILL DO BOLT ONS IN THE FUTURE. WHICH CONVERTER DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND? I'VE HEARD ABOUT YANK 3500,YANK 4400,VIG 3200,VIG2800. WHAT STALL SPEED DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GO WITH?
All but the Yank 4400 will do a good job. The 4400 is way to obig for what you're asking for. Some people run them, but in my opinion it is way too much for a daily driver.
You're best choice is a Yank ST3000-3500 or a Vig 2800-3200.
I have a Yank ST3500 with 3.23s. It feels a little loose at first, but you get used to it very quickly.
The rule of thumb when picking a converter is this: Decide on which one you like and think you'd be comfortable with. Then go with the next higher converter.
That saves you from doing what the rest of us have done and buying multiple converters.

I've had great results with the Vig3200 in my daily driver '01 SS.
The only SES light I occasionally get that I think may be converter related is the P0300 (Misfire Detected) code.
Like you, I was getting ~21MPG on the stock converter while running the Vig I average ~19.5. So, the drop off isn't too bad and the performance increase very much makes up for it.
May I also suggest that you do the "Keyboard Caps-Lock" mod?

Had great results out of the VIG 3600 and dependant upon what type of driving you do it shouldnt effect you MPG much. If its highway driving you could possibly pick up some but if its city driving then you could lose some, dependant on the weight of your foot. Mine gets kinda heavy from time to time. Best of luck to ya and if ya decide to go with a 3600 give me a shout. Later MIKE
