My 93 TA is having some issues.. When I put the car in drive it will not move it acts like it is in Neutral. If I pull into 3rd its fine. It seems to be holding first gear it will not shift till 3k.. It does the same before shifting into 3rd I have to let off the gas for it shift. I can then put into D and it shift into 4th.. If I come to a stop in D it acts like it is in neutral.. I am not sure what the hell is wrong with it. Any ideas?

 

You have a failed input sprag the overun clutch comes on in the D position bypassing it

 

So what needs to be done to fix it?

 

Replace the trans or have it repaired. You will have to pull the trans out and at least pull the pump and the input drum. This is where it is located. We do offer both parts and rebuilts if you are interested. Vince
