Default trans stuck!?!?

The car is a 95 z28 with 114,xxx miles on it. The problem is sometimes after im driving the car around and i stop and put it in park, it doesnt go in park all the way. It feels like it is still in gear and wants to go but wont move when you push the gas the rpms dont go past 2000 even if you floor it. Reverse is the same wont go backwards, and when putting it back in drive it makes a loud clunk and jumps forward. If i keep pushing the gas lightley in park it will pop loud and go back to normal. And my high rpm shifts are slow and going from first to second makes the whole car shake. Sorry for the book but any help would be great. Thanks in advance. Jeremy

It might be a good idea to look over your transmission and motor mounts. It is kinda stange that the motor won't rev over 2000 rpm's. This sounds like a motor issue. Is a little hard to give you solid advise with just this computer as a diagnostic tool. Sorry that I can't be of more help here. Vince

Additional comment
the wont rev past 2000 rpm in park and feels like its trying to pull woul indicate the forward clutch is still applied , the same for wont move in reverse , the forward frictions teeth may be grabbing across the sprag that would explain why when you kep giving it a little gas over and over it may somehow be taking them out of the bindup thats the only reason I can think of as to why it would feel like it was in gear when you were in park and why if you keep giving it gas serveral times it will clunk then rev normally
hope this helps
