I just put a fresh 4l60e in my 2000 SS. I drove it right after all day with no issues. Now for some reason the car will stay stuck in 2nd gear. I can't manually shift it and ther are no codes showing? Any ideas I'm lost. the car has a 3500 stall and has had the tranny codes for the converter deleted. Any help?

 

Check the plug in harness on trans make sure its plugged in then look for burned wire ect in harness and have the car scanned even if the light is not on there should be a code for one gear only

 

I'll check the harness tommorrow. i did scan the car no code showed up. It does start is first then shift to second but thats as far as it goes.

 

It do sent neutral where the third shift should be does it ?

 

nope just stays in 2nd
no slippage in any if first two gears either. It also didn't gradualy go out it just quit all at once.

 

you need to have it scanned and see whats being comanded the trans should make 3rd even if the harness was unplugged since thats limp mode
